Free Games Can Challenge Your Observation Skills

Computer games can provide a lot of entertainment, while they can also challenge your powers of observation and motor skills.

Entertaining games that require you to match colors, shapes or sizes, can be used to sharpen your powers of observation. Your motor skills can even be enhanced by swapping the contents of each cell in a grid. If the contents of the grid are in no order, or randomized in color, moving cells around in either a vertical or horizontal direction may also improve your hand-to-eye coordination.

To enhance the popularity of some of the games, you can be given awards, such as extra points, when cells are placed in the correct sequence. These sequences may vary from having identical colors adjacent to each other, or having specified shapes in a desired formation. Extra points are awarded, when a specified number of shapes, colors, or sizes are placed in a desired arrangement. As your score increases, you can advance to more challenging levels to improve your proficiency.

Developers of these types of games realize, that, in order to keep the players engaged, the challenges must increase. Several versions may include challenges with increased degrees of difficulty, such as time limits, where the players are racing against the clock.

There is diversity involved in the manner in which the games are played. They can be played online, or a download to your computer or device may be required. Some of the online versions are flash-based, enabling developers to include improved graphics, and also for lower consumption of resources.

Games can be played on both Mac and PC, and system requirements include having at least a Pentium 4 processor, with a minimum speed of 0.5 GHz. At least 128 MB of Random Access Memory may be needed with only 25 MB of storage. The gaming experienced is enhanced, with an SVGA graphics card, and compatible audio sound card.

A few strategies can be used to increase your rate of success with many of these games.

When matching shapes, colors, or sizes of item in a grid, it is best to work at the top of the grid first, because the swaps made at the top appear to be more permanent.

With a few variations in some of the games, when you get four items of the same of color in a row, you are given additional features that, if properly used, can add some spice to the experience. They can help to improve your scores, but at the same time, they can hurt your scores, if they are used incorrectly.
