Where Are The Best Places For Picking Herbs In Cataclysm

One of the most lucrative professions you can have in the game of World of Warcraft is the skill of Herbalism. It's not that difficult to level up at the earlier levels but it does get more difficult the more you level. But what doesn't get more difficult at higher levels or as you progress? All good things in an MMORPG are a little challenging. If not, why play?

Below is a list of the Cataclysm Herbs that are available in the game, where they can be located and how many nodes there are in that zone.

Whiptail

Uldum 145, Tol Barad 48

Heartblossom

Deepholm 993

Cinderbloom

Deepholm 428, Twilight Highlands 354, Mount Hyjal 246, Uldum 153, Tol Barad 43, Tol Barad Peninsula 101

Stormvine

Mount Hyjal 88, Abyssal Depths 69, Shimmering Expanse 62, Kelp'thar Forest 40

Azshara's Veil

Shimmering Expanse 90, Tol Barad Peninsula 89, Abyssal Depths 73, Kelp'thar Forest 54, Mount Hyjal 12

Twilight Jasmine

Twilight Highlands 737

One unique Volatile that comes from only plants is Volatile Life, and you will find it in plant nodes approximately 39% of the time. Furthermore, what you can pick from flowers about 10% of the time is the Lifegiving Seed. This transforms the user into a random plant. It puts the player into a sort of trance called Herbouflage, and it triggers two other effects, both called Nourishment. The effects are 96000 health points over thirty seconds, and 72000 mana points restored over those same 30 seconds.

Another great profession to complement Herbalism would definitely be mining. While you are grinding for herb nodes, you can look for mining nodes at the very same time. You are now a gathering expert! Materials are always in high demand by crafters that don't bother to farm for themselves, and there are plenty out there.

Two more professions that are worth mentioning that would complement Herbalism would be Alchemy or Inscriptioning because you would be using the material (herbs) that you just picked to make potion's and elixir's in Alchemy, or you would need them to mill if you are an Inscriptionist and needed to make glyphs. Either one of these methods can make you a great deal of money at the AH, or just stand outside a busy bank prior to a raid, and sell raiding supplies. Plants, potions elixirs, glyphs, volatiles, you name it, if you have this profession with one of the combinations above you are set. You will be in great demand... and very rich.

There are addons to aid you in gathering, and those happen to be Gathermate and GathermateData. Gathermate will keep track of what you picked and where, but GathermateData has known locations of all nodes and where they are. They are a free addon, available through Curse or WoWinterface. A premium addon that is great for gathering and professions in general is Zygor Profession and Achievement Guide addon. It will help you power level any profession and not only that, it will help you to become an achievement whore like myself.

Cataclysm Leveling Guide - What You Need To Succeed In The Cataclysm Expansion For WoW

Leveling in Cataclysm can be difficult when you first arrive there. Most players just pick up a Cataclysm leveling guide to make sure that they will know where to go and what to do. But finding the quest objectives and doing the right ones isn't all there is to leveling there. You need to be mindful about a few other things as well.

The way I see it now is that World of Warcraft has two major leveling areas, the ones from level 1 to level 80 and the one from level 80 to 85. This is because the mobs are very different in the new Cataclysm zones. That is why I will tell you exactly what you need to make sure you won't waste time over there.

- As I was saying, the monsters in Cataclysm are different. They are a lot tougher and you will also have a considerable handicap towards them as you begin. That handicap will be your items. The ones you will have on you will be much weaker than what you can get from quests in Cataclysm. So to make sure you fix that, purchase the blue crafted set from the Auction House when you reach level 80 and then move on.

- If you have a class that can be a tank, make sure you get that spec when entering Cataclysm. This will help you last longer in fights and also allow you to deal AoE damage. If you can't be a tank, then pick a talent build that offers you more defensive capabilities. The NPCs here hit a lot harder and you might have some bad surprises.

- As you reach level 80, you have two option in terms of leveling zones, Mt. Hyjal or Vashj'ir. Pick Mt. Hyjal as the area is much more easier to move around and has better and more quests. The Vashj'ir area is mostly underwater so you will move very slow until you do several quests that will allow you to get a water mount. Plus the quests there are pretty scarce so you will only waste time.

- Once you reach level 80 and are having trouble with the Cataclysm mobs, use the Dungeon Finder to do some instances. The items you get from them will help you. Provided you get into instances that are level 80 plus. If not, you will receive the same level gear you did prior to Cataclysm.

If you take care of these things then you will have no problems reaching the level cap fast. It's a bit more difficult at the start, but everything will become easier as you change your gear to the new item level. You will then be able to level up really easy in World of Warcraft, especially if you grab a Cataclysm leveling guide.

The secret to leveling up really fast without any efforts from your part is a Cataclysm Leveling Guide.

Cataclysm Leveling Zones You Must Ignore

Leveling in World of Warcraft can take a while. Mostly because you have to go through a lot of quests and zones. When you get to the 80-85 level range, things tend to get even slower. That is why you have to pick the right Cataclysm leveling zones. That way you won't waste time doing the wrong quests in the wrong area.

Even from the start of the game, you have to choose the right areas to level in. Most Alliance players prefer Elwynn Forest and Horde players Durotar, because they are the most efficient when it comes to doing quests. After that, you will have several choices that will differ from one another. And it is the same when you get to the Cataclysm content.

The Cataclysm leveling zones you should avoid are those found in Vashj'ir. This area is completely underwater and even though you will receive underwater breathing and swim speed buffs, you will still move rather slow, mostly because you will do so in a tridimensional surrounding. It is true that you won't need to fight so many mobs at first, but the quests here are pretty scarce. You will also get a water mount eventually that will help you move around a lot faster.

The fact that this area is underwater also means that you won't be able to use Flight Paths to shorten your journeys. That will also make leveling a lot more time-consuming.

The area you will want to begin your journey from level 80 is Mount Hyjal. This is a normal zone that doesn't involve going underwater. You will be able to use your flying mount here, so moving around will be a lot easier. There are a lot of mobs around so you will have some trouble with them right at the start. As soon as you complete a few quests and update your gear you shouldn't have any more trouble.

Another plus for this leveling area is the fact that you gain reputation with the Guardians of Hyjal. If you complete all of the quests in this area, you will level to 82 or 83 and also be able to buy items from the Quartermaster for this faction. You can buy some level 83 items that are pretty good, and also some level 85 items which will work if you don't have anything else.

So when you hit level 80 and want to start leveling in Cataclysm, make sure you ignore Vashj'ir and go for Mount Hyjal. That is if you are in a hurry to level up. If you want to see something different, then you can try the underwater Cataclysm leveling zones of Vashj'ir.

If you want to see the other zones, then have a look here at all the Cataclysm Leveling Zones.

To make sure you go through them quickly, grab a leveling guide and see how fast you can level up.
