So You're a SWTOR Healer - What Stats Do You Need?

Want to improve your SWTOR Healer experience? And unsure what all these stats are about and what they can do you for you?

In this post I will show you exactly which stats you want to keep an eye on as a healer.

In SWTOR our characters come with primary and secondary stats. Let's have a look at the ones that are relevant for healing.

Primary stats

To get the most out of your healing, your primary stats are the most important to focus on. There are 6 of them, but only 4 are important for our purpose:

Endurance

This one increases your lifepoints. Sounds interesting, no? Well, this one is interesting no matter what class you play.

On the other hand, the following 3 stats all give healers a boost, but are targeted on specific advanced classes:

Willpower

If you're playing a Jedi Sage or a Sith Sorcerer class, you will get a boost from this stat for your healing.

Aim

If you're a Commando or a Mercenary, your healing will benefit from this one.

And Cunning

Likewise, this stat is beneficial to Scoundrel's and Operative's healing.

Obviously, you want your primary stat on the item that's best for your class.

Next, when you level up in the game, and get better gear, you will get access to secondary stats.

Secondary stats

Again, only a few of these are interesting for those wanting to improve their healing skills.

The 2 most important stats are probably:

Alacrity

Reduces your cast time, and thus enables you to invoke more healing spells in a shorter period of time.

Power

This one increases your Heal.

But the following are interesting too:

Critical Rating

Increases your chances to Critical Heal.

Surge

Increases the amount of that Critical Heal.

Expertise

This is a stat that's specifically geared for PvP-mode. It increases the healing (as well as the damage) that you do, and it also decreases the amount of damage you sustain.

Conclusion

So, remember to focus first on your primary stats, they're the most important. Choose the stats that are useful for your class.

And then gradually, when you evolve through the game and level up, you'll get access to more and more secondary stats. And then all you need to do is beef those up as well (and specifically Alacrity and Power).

I hope you now have a better idea of which stats to focus on for your SWTOR healer character.

SWTOR Leveling Guide - Fastest Way to Reach Level 50

Do you want to know how to reach level 50 in SWTOR as soon as possible? Well, even if this post isn't exactly a step-by-step SWTOR leveling guide, you will surely find here a few bits of valuable information that will help you level a lot more faster. By the time you have finished reading this article, you'll know what you have to do.

Probably just like yourself, no matter what MMO I play, my number one goal is to hit the level cap as quickly as possible, and have my character ready for end-game PvP and raiding. Needless to say, I have the same goal for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Leveling in SWTOR isn't too difficult, but just as in almost any other MMO, it's the same long and tedious process. Although Bioware has given a very neat storyline to each class, which also gives the game a very catchy atmosphere, if you get caught by it, it will take you a lot of time to reach level 50.

Ok, so let's see...

What's the Fastest Way to Level Up in SWTOR?

Not surprisingly, it's questing (or completing missions, to put it in SWTOR terms). And SWTOR quests don't have a high level of difficulty, in general, featuring quite a distinctive central leveling path. But there are always hidden objectives that can take a lot of time to discover, and shortcuts that can make your leveling process much easier and bring you a high XP rating. That's when a SWTOR leveling guide comes in.

Plus, if you know how to alternate your questing sessions with warzones and flashpoints sessions, you will also be able to keep a peaked XP rating. This aspect is also covered excellently by a SWTOR leveling guide I've been using.

SWTOR Fast Leveling Tips

Knowing questing shortcuts or the exact location of certain quest bosses or objectives isn't enough though, to have a quick progression in Star Wars: The Old Republic. There are also a few rules that I've learned by using a SWTOR leveling guide, that I'm going to share here.

1. If you want fast leveling, skip all the NPC talking in each quest. Pressing "space" allows you to do that. Sadly, I wasn't able to find out about the "skip-talking" command only on my second day of SWTOR. Every time I asked about it in the game chat, the trolls that were everywhere, gave me only erroneous advice, like: "Press ALT + F4, that'll do!"

2. Enable area loot. Looting a large pack of corpses one by one will considerably slow you down.

3. Choose an AoE specialization for leveling.

4. Although most classes have at least one basic healing ability, it's always a good idea to have medpacks with you. Dying after you have cleared a cave full of mobs, right before you complete your objective really sucks, and doing it over and over again will surely slow you down.

Now, to level fast in SWTOR isn't that difficult. But in order to do that, it's best to know exactly where to go and what to do, when to join a warzone or a flashpoint, and what quests to complete, especially in flashpoints.

A SWTOR leveling guide can be a lot of help. You will find more details about the best one of them, only a click away.

SWTOR PvP Guide - One PvP Tip for Each SWTOR Class

To become a super SWTOR PvP player takes a lot of practice, beginning with the lowest level possible. But playing only your class doesn't cut it. You have to know the other classes as well, to be aware what stuff they may throw at you or how they will attack you. For that, you should either roll a character from each class, or simply learn about their gameplay by using a SWTOR PvP guide.

That's what I did and in a very short time, I became one of the top PvP players on my server, leader of premades that everyone was eager to join. Since I've learned so much about PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic from this SWTOR PvP guide in such a short time, I'm going to share here a PvP tip for each class in this game.

SWTOR PvP Guide - PvP Tips For Galactic Republic Classes

1. Smuggler. Smugglers are excellent crowd controllers and if you choose to play this class in PvP, crowd control attacks are more important than damaging attacks. Since smugglers have fast and barrage ranged attacks, they can fulfill the role of interruptors. Make sure you keep your "Escape" ability at hand, it sure is one of the most important abilities of the smuggler in PvP.

2. Trooper. Troopers can be tanks, off-healers and massive ranged DPS dealers. However, the first role isn't that much of a requirement Warzones. To have a maximum feeling playing your trooper in PvP it's best to spec as Commando-Gunner, for focused cannon DPS.

3. Jedi Consular. This class is the main healer of the Galactic Republic, so if you want players to worship you, it's best to go with the Seer build. As a Jedi Shadow, following the Infiltration spec, this class is very fun to play, but you will have to make maximum use of your stealth-based attacks.

4. Jedi Knight. As a Jedi Knight, one of the Watchman of Combat Sentinel builds are most indicated if you want to act as a strong melee damage dealer. Keep in mind though that your Force Leap and Resolve are very important abilities, so use them wisely.

SWTOR PvP Guide - PvP Tips For Sith Empire Classes

1. Sith Warrior. As a Sith Warrior in PvP I would follow the Vengeance path as a Juggernaut or the Carnage spec as a Marauder. Anyway, just as for the Jedi Knight, make maximum use of the charge ability, slow and knockdowns, because otherwise ranged opponents will kite the crap out of you.

2. Sith Inquisitor. Healer, DPS caster or stealth-based melee DPS are the three choices that you can make as a Sith Inquisitor. Either way, keep your Backlash and Unbreakable Will bound on an easy reachable key.

3. Bounty Hunter. The main cards of a BH in PvP are heavy ranged damage and crowd control. However, it's best to CC a target when you know for sure that they have used their CC purge ability. Best damaging spec for DPS in PvP should be Arsenal Mercenary.

4. Imperial Agent. Playing this class in PvP you should maximize your ranged attacks, since this is the sniper of the Sith Empire. Otherwise, if you choose a Concealment build, make sure you take maximum advantage of your stealth and only come out when you're sure you can deal maximum damage, or kill at least one target.

I hope these tips help. Anyway, if you want to become a complete SWTOR player and even run your own premades, I strongly recommend you a SWTOR PvP guide.

So, ready to excel at PvP in Star Wars: The Old Republic?

Dominate each and every warzone by learning and applying the PvP strategies in this SWTOR PvP Guide.
