Demonology Warlock Talent Leveling Build and Leveling Spec

Demonology Warlock Leveling Build

Warlocks are my favorite class for leveling in WoW. I have leveled a Warlock using both Demonology and Destruction builds and am currently testing the Affliction build for leveling.

Demonology has to be the quickest and easiest method for leveling a Warlock. For my Demonology build I only left out 2 of the available talents which were Demonic Embrace and Master Summoner. Neither of these talents are particularly good for leveling purposes and the talent points can be better spent in the Destruction talent tree.

Dark Arts and Fel Synergy are the first 2 talents you'll want to assign your points to, Demonic Embrace can be skipped for now and picked up a little later. The key is to move down the tree in this build so in tier 2 you'll want to take Demonic Rebirth, Demonic Aegis and Mana Feed and then move further down the talent tree from there.

Next you will want to take Impending Doom which is a great ability and assign 3 talent points here before taking both Demonic Empowerment and Improved Health Funnel. Now your Warlock has some cool abilities to reserve both health and mana and some nice damage dealing abilities too.

The next ability you'll want to take is Hand of Gul'dan. Then take Aura of Foreboding, assigning both available talent points here before moving down the tree again and taking Inferno. Next I would assign 2 talent points to both Ancient Grimoire and Decimation.

Now you can take both Cremation and Demonic Pact. Next you want to back track slightly and assign 2 points to Molten Core. Once this is complete you can then take the Metamorhosis ability before placing one more talent point in Molten Core.

That makes for a great Warlock leveling build and there are still 9 talent points that are free to use. I would recommend a hybrid build here of Destruction. The destruction tree can give the Warlock that nice damage output boost.

Personally I would take Bane which will speed up leveling as it will reduce the casting time of your Shadow bolt, Chaos bolt and Immolate spells. Improved Immolate is another nice ability that will increase the damage done by your Immolate spell which is a DoT (damage over time) spell and then I would take Aftermath and Emberstorm from tier 2 of the Destruction talent tree to complete the Warlock leveling build.

Prime Glyths I recommend for this build are Felguard, Incinerate and Corruption.

Major Glyths I recommend for this build are Shadowflame, Soul Link and Death Coil.

WoW Warlock Guide - Warcraft's Masters of the Dark Arts

The Warlocks are a great class to play in WoW with a ton of cool abilities and spells at their disposal they truly are a class act. A Warlock will draw their power from mana and will use cool shadow and fire spells and abilities to inflict damage on their opponents.

The Warlocks have one obvious weakness in that they can only armor there-selves with cloth making vulnerable to attacks as well as the need to keep replacing or repairing the armor you're equipped with. However the Warlock is equipped with a number of ranged magic damage dealing spells and has a variety of DoT (damage over time) spells to drain their opponents life continually.

Another nice set of abilities that lends itself to the Warlocks are their fear spells. These can literally stop your foe dead in their tracks and send them running temporarily. Not only is this cool but when combined with the Warlocks DoT spells and ranged magic spells it makes for a good DPS build.

Not to mention that the Warlock class are equipped with a demonic pet that's always by the Warlocks side when summoned and ready to do battle, whether it be the sexy Succubus whipping your foes or the demented Imp minion running like a lunatic blasting your opponents with fireballs.

Warlocks are primarily ranged magic damage dealers although adapt well to different talent builds. A Warlocks main focus though is to take down mobs from a distance with their variety of shadow, fire and fear spells. The talent build you choose for your Warlock will greatly determine the role your character plays in the game especially in group scenarios. The three available talent trees for Warlocks are the Affliction, Demonology and Destruction talent trees.

The Affliction Warlock talent build which happens to be one i'm experimenting with at the moment for one of my alts is focused on the Warlocks DoT spells and Fear spells making it the ideal build for PvP scenarios although not likened by many for leveling purposes.

The Demonology talent build will focus more on the damage output of the Warlock class and that of the Warlocks pet. This talent build is suitable for both PvE and PvP sceanrios and if followed through to the end you'll receive the Metamorphosis ability which will enable you to transform into a demon which is a pretty cool ability.

The Destruction talent build focuses heavily on the Warlocks damage output by acquiring new and improving the Warlocks shadow based spells such as shadow bolt and fire based spells such as Immolate.

When using the Warlock class to create an "alt" character and level through the game quickly the Demonology and Destruction talent trees offer the best specs for a nice Warlock leveling build. The Warlock also adapts well to slight hybrid builds although one should primarily focus on just one of the talent trees to start off with.

Warlock Guide - Best Warlock Spec for PvP

Since a Warlock can only be a damage dealer, basically any Warlock spec can be used in PvP. But if you specialize on Demonology, you gain a pretty much awesome ability, Metamorphosis, which can be considered a very nice I WIN button for a Warlock. However, not all the talents on the Demonology spec are very useful for PvP. Therefore, in this short Warlock guide, I'm going to tell you exactly what talents to keep and to exclude from the Demonology spec, and also what talents to train from the other specs.

Talents to Leave Out from your Demonology Spec

Fel Synergy. If you train two points in this talent, your gain 100% chances to heal your pet by 15% of the spell damage you deal. This may be useful in PvE, especially when you're leveling up, but it's a totally useless talent for PvP. Not very many players will ever attack your pet. And even if they do, you'll re-summon it right away.

Master Summoner. This talent reduces the cast time of the demon summoning spells by 1 second. Another useless talent. In case your pet is dead, you'll just use a Soul Shard to instantly summon your pet.

Improved Health Funnel. This talent improves your Health Funnel spell. However, in arena and PvP you won't be using it very much. Or you can always pop a bandage to heal the pet. So, it's best to save these 2 points.

Talents to Train from the Affliction and Destruction Specs

The second part of this short Warlock guide refers to the 10 remaining talent points. It you have trained everything except the talents I have mentioned, from the Demonology Warlock spec, here are the talents to train from Affliction and Destruction.

Affliction:

Doom and Gloom. This talent will boost the critical chance of your Bane of Agony and Bane of Doom by 8%.

Improved Corruption. This talent will increase the damage of your Corruption spell by 12%.

Destruction:

Shadow and Flame. This talent not only that improves the damage of your Shadow Bolt and Incinerate. It will also apply an effect on your target that will increase your spell critical chance against that target by 5%.

Improved Immolate. This talent grants 20% damage boost to your Immolate spell.

All in all, your Demonology Warlock spec for PvP should be 5/31/5. This talent tree grants you quite a few excellent PvP-oriented talents, like Inferno, Demonic Embrace and Metamorphosis, and you also get 10 points to boost your damage and critical chance by training 4 other talents.

I hope this post helps. Also, you can find here a great Warlock spec for leveling.

And if you want to learn how to play your Warlock at maximum, in PvP or PvE, here's a complete Warlock Guide.
