The Beginner's Guide To World of Warcraft Dungeon Leveling

World of Warcraft enthusiasts are always seeking the quickest and most efficient method for leveling their characters and it seems the latest buzz for leveling is "dungeon leveling". Dungeon leveling is now becoming more and more commonplace among the gaming community with teams of players uniting across Azeroth to battle and conquer the dungeons together.

Any player of the game can take on dungeons in a group as long as they have reached level 15 in the game, so the opportunity to take on dungeons comes quite early on the game and is certainly worth exploring once you're familiar with the layout of the game.

Dungeons offer a unique twist compared to solo leveling in that they involve groups which usually contain around 5 players to participate and conquer the dungeon together as the monsters and bosses in the dungeons are much more difficult to kill than the usual solo quest monsters.

The loots and XP gained from dungeons though is also much more rewarding and the number one reason why many of the seasoned players are using dungeons to level their characters fast. Not only are the rewards much greater but much less time is spent traveling between locations to find, complete and return quests.

Blizzard have made joining dungeon groups straight forward since the introduction of the dungeon finder tool which is a bright green eye located in the menu bar on the main screen interface. Simply opening the dungeon finder tool will open up a new interface where you can join a queue for a dungeon.

The key to successfully leveling quickly using dungeons is to make sure you're always active and in a queue. Sometimes you may have to wait a little while to find a suitable group but making sure you're on stand by is key. You'll find the waiting times vary between different talent builds and class roles, for instance healers are usually best accepted into groups followed by tanks and finally the damage dealers.

When using the dungeon leveling method it's also wise to complete the available dungeon quests located in the dungeons. Many people skip over these but they drop lots of extra loot and XP and are definitely worth completing!

Admittedly dungeon quests can be awkward to locate, especially in the lower tiers of the dungeons where Blizzard never deemed it necessary to add in game maps from previous installments and expansions of World of Warcraft but a good dungeon leveling guide that's updated for each new patch will make the process smoother.

The Advantages of Dungeon Leveling

What Are the Benefits of Dungeon Leveling?

The main benefit of dungeon leveling is that it's without a doubt the fastest way to level any character in WoW. It used to be that the traditional method of solo questing non stop and grinding was the most effective method for leveling a character in WoW.

However since the introduction of the dungeon finder tool during the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Dungeon leveling is now the fastest way to level in WoW.

The most obvious reason for leveling much faster using this strategy is that the XP rewards are much higher meaning you'll gain experience much faster.

Dungeons usually don't have much downtime either as you'll be working in co-ordinated groups and killing opponents all the time, which again all adds to the experience gained.

The dungeon finder will literally guide you right to your instance so you'll spend a heck of a lot less time running between locations and areas in between levels.

Generally speaking you'll also spend a lot less time dead and running round to find your body and resurrect which again all saves time, meaning you'll be leveling a lot faster with dungeon leveling.

Dungeon Leveling VS Solo Questing

When it comes to comparing dungeon leveling and solo questing I would say that both have there pros and cons. But to level up the most effectively Dungeon leveling wins hands down. Dungeons are also considerably easier for leveling than solo questing (although there's a little bit of a learning curve to start, but you'll soon pick it up).

The rewards and gear that can acquired from Dungeons are much more rewarding than solo questing as well. Essentially there are three main ways in which you can acquire better gear in dungeons.

Firstly there are quests to be completed within each dungeon itself and the rewards from these quests are much greater than rewards received from solo questing as Blizzard deem dungeon quests to be considerably harder and wanted to make them more appealing.

It's important to complete dungeon quests as this will drop more nice loots and reward you with yet more XP!

Secondly each dungeon has bosses and elite monsters that need to be conquered. Once defeated they will drop some awesome loots that can only be acquired through dungeon leveling and not solo questing.

The final way in which you will acquire better gear by dungeon leveling is the special bag you get after you complete your first random dungeon of the day.

Unfortunately the bags contents won't always be of that much benefit, but sometimes they add some pretty sweet rewards that are just the boost your character needed and a nice added extra.

Another benefit of dungeon leveling is that you'll venture into new areas of Azeroth you hadn't managed to explore whilst solo questing. At the same time when singularly focusing on dungeon leveling, you can miss some of the other great aspects of the game in solo questing.

One could always opt for a hybrid of the two and mix it up a little. But for leveling purposes and rewards, dungeons are the way to go.

WoW Dungeon Leveling - 3 Reasons Why Dungeons Beat Quests!

Wow Dungeon Leveling Guide

There are various different strategies and methods for power leveling in World of Warcraft. It use to be that completing quests efficiently as possible was the best method for leveling fast. However since the inclusion of the Dungeon Finder Tool with the Wrath of the Lich King extension, Dungeon leveling is without doubt the most effective method for power leveling.

The XP that's gained from Dungeon quests is roughly twice that of solo quests making Dungeons the fastest way to level in WoW.

Dungeon Leveling = More XP Earned per Hour!

One distinct advantage of Dungeon Leveling is that there's no huge distances to cover between zones when traveling between quests as there is with solo quests. Since the inclusion of the Dungeon Finder Tool, finding dungeons and groups got a whole lot easier and the Dungeon Finder Tool will literally guide you right to the Dungeon, no matter what zone you're currently playing in!

Some of the classes that have weak armor such as cloth will also benefit greatly from Dungeons as they will spend less time resurrecting after defeat as Dungeon quests operate in groups and will have some heavy hitters in there to take the brunt of the attacks.

Healing classes also benefit greatly from Dungeons compared to solo quests as it is a lot easier to level their Healing spec instead of DPS. Dungeons allow for Healing classes to level up solely as a Healing class, which will allow for much more time to hone and master their Healing abilities for Healing large groups.

Dungeon Leveling = More Fun & Social Interaction!

It goes without saying that World of Warcraft is hugely addictive:) However, when you throw Dungeons into the mix, things really get interesting. Leveling in Dungeons as opposed to solo quests will give players the chance to experience some of the older dungeons that tally with the Classic WoW and the Burning Crusade, which can often be overlooked and well worth exploring for another added extra to the game.

This not only brings new challenges for some of the more experienced players who have progressed through much of the game but is also a great way for introducing some of the newer players. Not only that but solo questing means your playing alone a majority of the time whereas Dungeons require group efforts and bring a new dimension to the game that's both fun and sociable and a great way to interact with other WoW enthusiasts and build alliances.

Dungeon Leveling = More Gold!

World of Warcrafts own currency... GOLD. As rewarding as Dungeons are for both fun and XP as well as some cool rewards, that wouldn't be enough to solely rely on dungeons for leveling without the accumulation of gold and lots of it!

Dungeon leveling will open up new avenues for making gold in the form of auction house! One of the easiest methods for acquiring gold in Dungeons is to "disenchant" any of the items you get in dungeons that are of no use to your character.

Note: The "disenchant" feature will only be made available to players who have an "enchanter" working with you in your group.

Certain players who have chosen to acquire the enchanting profession possess the ability to disenchant magical items. Not only that but when an enchanter is present in a group this ability is made available for all players that are active within that group.

If you perform a group task and a group member unlocks a loot that is unique, magical, or rare then each group member will be asked what they want to do with the looted item. If the item is of use to your character then simply select "need" and the item will be added to your collection.

If however an enchanter is present within your group then there will also be a "disenchant" option available. If the particular item is of no use to your character then you will want to select the disenchant option. Once this step has been completed you can then sell the disenchant items on at the auction house and rake in some precious gold!

If you have yet to try dungeon leveling, then you really do owe it to yourself to give it a shot. You'll be amazed at how quickly you'll start power leveling your way through the game!

Beginners Guide To Dungeon Leveling

Why Dungeon Leveling?

If you've played World of Warcraft for any length of time then you'll most probably have explored a number of different methods for leveling your character fast. There's no shortage of leveling guides available for WoW, however the majority of these guides focus on a combination of completing quests efficiently and mob grinding to level up quickly.

Unfortunately questing and grinding is no longer the best tactic for leveling a character fast. Since the release of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion, Blizzard incorporated the dungeon finder tool which makes dungeon leveling a whole lot easier and is available to all players once they cap level 15.

Not only have dungeons become an important part of power leveling but they also offer some pretty sweet rewards and are great fun to play.

Although many of the lower level dungeons can be located throughout the Horde territory in WoW. The dungeon finder tool allows players of both Alliance and Horde races to benefit from the Classic and Burning Crusade dungeons. The tool will pull in players that belong to the same faction across many different servers (players are segregated into different servers to prevent overcrowding).

The dungeon finder then sends you to your dungeon automatically without you having to venture into enemy territory just to locate and reach the dungeon.

What this basically means is the Alliance characters are now experiencing some of the Horde dungeons, while Horde players are also experiencing Alliance dungeons. It is now also a lot easier for players of both Alliance and Horde to complete dungeon quests that are located on the opposite factions territory.

Another huge benefit of the dungeon finder tool was that fact that all players could now access the lower level dungeons. It was difficult before to locate lower level players to group with is as most players on that server would have already achieved level 80 status. However since the rollout of the dungeon finder tool in patch 3.3 all that has now changed.

Dungeon Leveling - Dungeon Quests & Bosses

Dungeon quests are also a crucial component in a good dungeon leveling strategy. To encourage players of all levels (15+) to enter and play dungeons, Blizzard increased the amount of XP rewarded as well as added better rewards for completing dungeons. Dungeon quests can reward a player with twice as much as experience as an ordinary solo quest and of course the rewards are that much sweeter too.

There are also some nice gear upgrades to be acquired in dungeons by simply killing the bosses. Each dungeon will have its own boss and once defeated they will drop gear that is nicely suited for your class and level. Rewards gained like this cannot be gained from solo questing and will require that the player enters the dungeons in order to retrieve them.

Not only that but killing dungeon bosses is a great deal of fun. It sets a new challenge which is slightly different to that of solo questing, instead of just doing tedious grinding to power level your way through the game, you instead get to participate in new challenges and have unique opportunities that will be much more rewarding for both leveling and gear.

Dungeons guides are based on group efforts, which makes them more interesting and unique than the regular solo quests. For some reason playing in a group with other players is not just great fun but will also help you hone your skills for your class as each players character will play a slighlty different role depending on which class they belong to.

I've always enjoyed the Ranged Magic Damage Dealers because of their cool spells and they are also generally welcomed into groups and raids. Rogues are another great class for dungeon leveling, but it all boils down to personal preference and play style.
