Gaming Time for Dads, Relaxing With Or Without the Kids

Males take over an extremely specific role once they turn into a dad. A dad is really a reward in itself. The smiles you see, the tears you wipe, the stories you share with your child about when you were young. These times are priceless and will often be held very close in your memories. Yet you still need time to yourself so you can enjoy what you like as a person.

One example would be a gaming dad. As a gaming dad, when your children are taking a nap or sleeping in bed, that's your time to play games and or socialize with other dads online. A great resource for this is the Xbox 360 where you can have other dads or friends you know in real life on your friends list. There are numerous games that appeal to gaming dads. From racing games to FPS (First Person Shooter) games like any of the COD (Call of Duty) games. It's a great relaxing way to unwind from a long day of being a great dad!

Now what if your little ones are old enough to play the Xbox with you? By all means let them join you in the fun. There are TONS of games that dads can play with his kids and everyone will enjoy themselves! Games like Castle Crasher's and Batman. There is nothing like a dad and his kids saving the day and having fun doing it.

Gaming dads with older kids may possibly want to play a dancing game with them. Dancing games will add comic relief since it is fun to watch everybody dance. Just Dance 3 is an excellent game which will accomplish this. You'll find 45 tracks on this game, so each person will discover a song they each like to dance to. Plus as an added benefit you'll be able to play the game you would like to play so game time will in no way be boring.

There is no reason why dads can't be gaming dads. Gaming time is relaxing time and can be utilized as time spent with the children. Gaming dads can appreciate time by themselves, and it's often a very good way for them to clear their heads. Or appreciate time spent gaming with their little ones. Anyway you look at it, gaming is often a fun way for dads to get to have some fun while relaxing with or without their kids. It's a win-win experience.

Getting a Glimpse of Black Ops 2

The release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been confirmed to be on November 13, 2012. Treyarch developed the first-person shooter video game, which is published by Activision. The game is compatible with Windows, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. Although it is already the ninth Call of Duty game, it is the first one to feature futuristic warfare setting. It also allows the player to form a storyline of his own. The upcoming game is already talked about on Black Ops 2 forum sites.

The futuristic setting depicts 2025, during which time China and United States hold a cold war. But this war is run by robots and unmanned vessels, all depicting modern, advanced technology-based warfare. In the game, there is an element that depicts cynicism towards the advanced technology. The origin of the China-US cold war dates back to the 1980s, wherein the roots of the story were taken. The main antagonist in the game is Raul Menendez, who instigates war between the two countries. Back in the 1980s setting of the Black Ops game, Alex Mason is the protagonist. His son, David Mason, becomes the leading character in the 2025 version of the game.

As mentioned, Black Ops 2 will have branching storylines, as players can influence the game, as well as its story. The game will involve Strike Force missions, which will give players control over different war assets. These assets include robots, jets, and unmanned aircraft. The campaign continues even if the player dies in the mission, but the loss is recorded. The antagonist, Raul Menendez, will change his plans according to the progress of players in the Strike Force missions. Players can change the course of the Cold War.

Every Strike Force mission will remind you of the small sandbox battlefield, and you are free to choose the order you want to meet your aims. For instance, you can choose the units you play, or have a good look of the battlefield by zooming out the picture, while the flesh and blood soldiers deploy UAVs and walking robots. You can select a new unit and adopt its perspective, and you can quickly acquire any unit that you prefer at the moment. The "overwatch" mode allows you to give orders and go through the whole Strike Force missions.

The game developer, Treyarch, said that the Zombies mode will reappear in the new version of Black Ops, and it is its third time to appear in Call of Duty games. Zombies will have its own campaign and will execute the multiplayer engine, which allows a more intense experience together with novel game modes. The Zombies mode sets Black Ops 2 from older Call of Duty games, as it supports an 8 player co-op. Treyarch has not yet revealed much information about the Zombies mode, though.

The visuals of Black Ops 2 are improved with the use of more advanced graphics engine. Players will marvel the facial animation, which has been given more thorough attention. That means the characters will have more precise facial expressions.

Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

Multiplayer is a major part of the Modern Warfare series, and is a major reason why gamers continue to play. The heart of multiplayer is still here, and then some. All the modes you are familiar with have also returned. A few changes include all new killstreak categories, ranking, and unlocks system.

Like I said above, the entire killstreak system has been changed up. Don't worry, it has changed, but for the good. This system is no longer called killstreaks; they are now called pointstreaks. Unlike previous Modern Warfare games, kills are no longer the only way to increase the players pointstreak. Pointstreaks can also be increased by completing the many objectives this game has to offer. Pointstreak rewards are grouped together in three separate categories: support, assault, and specialist. If you are familiar with past COD games, then you will be familiar with how the assault package works. Specialist is worth mentioning, as it is completely new to the Modern Warfare series. After killing two enemies consecutively, the player is rewarded with the perk of their choosing. After eight kills, the player receives every perk in the game. This stat is reset once the player is killed.

Kill confirmed and team defender are two new game modes worth mentioning as well. Kill confirmed requires the player to kill enemies, and collect their dog tag. You have to be quick though. If the opposing team can snatch the dog tag before you do, you are denied the kill. You can of course do the same thing if one of your teammates is killed. Another new mode is team defender. This mode involves collecting flags from the first person who is killed. The team who captures the flag gains twice as many points as the opposing team. The team who fails to get the flag gets the default amount per kill.

If you have played any of the Call Of Duty games over the years, then you know the kind of action campaign mode brings. The start of campaign mode is set in Manhattan, where you are invaded by the Russian Federation. This mode has great graphics, visuals, and sound. With that being said, this mode was a bit of a let down for me. The objectives are easy and basic, and this mode has no length. Anyone familiar with the COD series could easily finish this mode in a few days. None the less, the game is a blast to play. In my opinion, multiplayer is where this game shines.

Gaming Is a Blessing: The Benefits of Gaming

Many parents and people believe that gaming does nothing but rotten an individual's mind, but that is not necessarily true. Parents are so convinced that video gaming consumes that mind of their children that they fail to realize the benefits that they can bring to their child. One of the most common benefits discussed about gaming is that they are great tools to improve a child's hand and eye coordination, but they can also help with critical thinking skills, personal fitness, socializing and give parents the reassurance that their children are not out on the streets getting into trouble. Video games can be more beneficial than a parent would think.

Of course one of the major concerns about video games is that it is a distraction to the youth, it only produces couch potatoes and good for nothing individuals, but with me being a gamer myself I find those statements to be far from the truth. Video games enable individuals to think critically due to the fact that most games produces in my generation are complex and they require gamers to solve puzzles or answer trivia in order to proceed to the next level. For example games like Uncharted: where the main character is on the quest to find a historic treasure, throughout the game you are asked to complete difficult puzzles in order to unlock the way to the treasure. This game required me to use my brain and come up with creative ways to solve the puzzles. These games also help with building creativity in the mind of its gamer, by taking them to places they never would imagine, defeating magical creature and doing the impossible. With the help of video games kids can increase their mind which can be beneficial as they get older because businesses love new bright and creative minds.

Being healthy is a major concern around the United States, especially with the stereotype that Americans are overweight and unhealthy. Video games can be the solution to all the health concerns of America. With majority of the games created today requiring intensive physical movement, most gamers can get a hard workout without even setting foot in the gym. There are dancing games and exercise games that allow gamers to have fun with family and friends without even knowing their getting a workout. Video games are making being in shape something fun to do by giving gamers new exciting ways to stay healthy. Games are a great way to entertain your kids and also keep them physically fit. Yes its true that games may keep children in front of the television for long periods of times, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Parents think about it, with all the violence young people are getting into these days isn't it great to see your child safely out of harms way? Children spending countless hours on the video game can help parents make sure their children are safely in the house, instead of running the streets. Video gaming is like an ultimate anti-drug for kids. With all of the drugs and crime that is surfacing the streets of the world, I'm sure you parents would rather see your child playing the new madden.

Lastly, video gaming has become a social norm for today's society by letting kids interact with their friends and also create new friends through online gaming. Majority of kids in America play them, which allows kids to share similarities with other kids and build closer bonds and friendships. they can also create healthy relationships between kids and their friends; this can result in a healthier childhood for your child. So before you go and label video games as a negative influence, think again and realize all the benefits they have to offer.

Call of Duty MW3 Guide

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 was released last year and has again pushed the franchise up into new heights. The game brought with it a plethora of new emblems, maps, guns, situations and tactics to learn.

Millions of players around the world enjoy and dedicate many hours to being the best at MW3. However, not everyone can sit there playing for hours on end. This MW3 tips guide will teach you how to play like the pros and save you all that wasted time learning these MW3 tips the hard way.

First, why would you want to be competing with the best players in the world at a video game? The answer to that question is simple. Activision, the publisher of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 have released a new online service known as Call of Duty Elite, where players just like yourself will be able to compete for fantastic prizes worth large sums of money.

MW3 Tips:

Keep Moving - This one is rather basic but you'll be surprised by how many new players will spend the entire match camped in a corner. Yes, there is a time for camping, like during defensive objective games. However, for the general part, staying still is a bad idea. For a start, whenever you kill an enemy he will witness a killcam showing your exact location. Now, with some very simple communication the enemy team can deliver a non lethal grenade through one entrance to distract you and a lethal attack through another, forming a bait and switch two pronged attack that even the best campers will struggle to out maneuver.

Aim Down the Sights - Knowing when to fire from the hip and when to fire through the sights is a major part of MW3 and is something you should focus your time on learning and mastering. As a basic guide, anyone camping that you accidentally run into or anyone at a very close range, just outside of knife range, should be fired at from the hip. On the other hand, anyone who is not causing you to turn significantly should definitely be fired at through the sights. A general rule is that if you need to turn a lot in a battle, avoid turning while looking through the sights.

Grenade Checking - When you throw a lethal or non-lethal grenade and you damage an enemy, a small hit marker will appear in the middle of your screen. Use this to your advantage and check rooms for enemies with non-lethal grenade checks before entering. If you see a marker appear, always attack from a different angle as your will now be the focus of your enemies attention.

I hope you liked my MW3 Tips and if you really want to master Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 you should pick up a professional MW3 Guide.

Effective Money Making in World of Warcraft

Much as in real life, money is a constant necessity in World of Warcraft and having ample amounts of funds can save you tremendous amounts of time and frustration. However, making this large amount of money is often considered itself a time-consuming and potentially frustrating task, but it doesn't have to be if you take the right approach.

Many World of Warcraft players make more than enough gold to fund the purchase of anything from crafting resources/materials to otherwise difficult to obtain raid gear from top-tier guilds with very little time invested each day, simply by following an effective and efficient routine.

Below I'll detail some of the basic methods of making money in World of Warcraft and tell you a bit about optimizing your approach as well as what I feel are the best ways to make gold.

1. Farming

Farming is the simplest and least complex approach to making cash. It's also probably the most widely used as everyone understands that killing monsters to make money is a surefire way of making gold. It's just quite often the slowest method too, mainly due to the fact that practically everyone does it from time to time leading to competition for farming locations and often an overflow of resources from popular farming locations, which drives down the prices of even rarer item drops.

Still, picking the right location for your class and level can generate a more than adequate profit if done for long enough or if you get lucky and find a rarer drop. Additionally, after the release of every expansion and patches that add new content, farming becomes perhaps the most profitable method of making money for a brief period of time as people scramble for new materials and items only available in newly released regions.

Sometimes this applies to old locations, as well. New expansion crafting recipes that make use of already available materials can allow you to farm what is at present an unimportant location only to turn your findings into a great deal of cash come the release of the next expansion.

In general, I'd rate straight up monster farming as the least effective money making method, excluding special circumstances such as the release of a new expansion and/or region containing rare and highly sought after materials/drops.

2. Gathering

Gathering is the next step in basic money making, providing all profit for little to no expense as you find and sell crafting materials on the auction house. Gathering can be combined with monster farming quite effectively assuming you're farming in an area where valuable crafting materials spawn.

Another way to use gathering is to find your own materials to level up crafting skills and them create items to sell on the auction house, a great way of saving money and depending on the profession equally effective at making additional profit.

Gathering on its own varies in profit, but I would say that pure gathering without any monster killing probably outweighs farming, or even farming and gathering, in potential profit. Keep in mind you'll be competing with a great number of other players looking to do the same thing, and the crowd can grow to unmanageable levels at peak times making it impossible to scrape up even a meager amount of materials after hours of searching.

If you find your gathering area of choice crowded, it's usually better to move on and try an otherwise less profitable location, as the actual profit per hour is likely to be higher than what you'd get competing with multiple other players in more popular regions.

Crucial to making a good income with gathering is to find a good synergy between your gathering professions, assuming you take two of them rather than a crafting profession. Something to consider when starting on a new server without the benefit of funding from a higher level character is to pick up two gathering professions early on and later replace one of them with a crafting profession once you've obtained a decent cash supply to fund yourself with.

Personally, I keep a few characters with purely gathering professions to use as my farming characters and then transfer their materials and profits to my crafting characters, each of which have two crafting professions. My favorite gathering characters are hunters for general purposes and rogues for PvP servers, due to stealth.

3. Crafting

Much as how gathering can be used in combination with farming to obtain additional profit, crafting synergizes with harvesting for those of you seeking to supply your own materials for crafting, as opposed to purchasing them off the auction house. Crafting is a great way of making money when done properly, but it also requires a higher initial investment before you actually start making a profit, whereas gathering and farming can be done at no personal cost aside from time.

Once you have a decent amount of cash saved, you'll want to start looking for opportunities to purchase materials for popular items at a lower price than you can sell the completed item for, cutting out the time you'd otherwise spend searching for materials on your own.

In many ways effective money making as a dedicated crafter requires the same skillset as playing the auction house: learning prices and looking for deals on materials that you're fairly certain you can turn into a product that sells for more than you initially invested buying the materials.

Done properly this can lead to an exponential increase in wealth at a very quick rate; it also doesn't take much time comparative to farming and gathering everything for yourself or to sell on the auction house.

4. Playing the Auction House

The most effective way of making money in World of Warcraft is without a doubt playing the auction house, however this is also the most complex method as it requires the monitoring of numerous potential markets and swift identification of opportunities to buy low and sell high. What this means is that you need a general knowledge of prices and the value of nearly all items, rather than focusing solely on your profession as with gathering and crafting.

Players who dedicate themselves to this method, and even casual users of the auction house, would be wise to find themselves an addon which greatly assists in simplifying the otherwise overwhelming amount of information to digest about pricing and supply.

How to Become a Better WoW PvPer

In my opinion the most dynamic and interesting aspect of World of Warcraft is Player Vs. Player combat. The human element provides what even the most challenging Raids & Dungeons cannot, an ever changing experience without a formula or single strategy to follow. Still, PvP can also be the most daunting part of the game to the inexperienced, precisely because you're competing with other players rather than an easily understood monster.

Furthermore, it's not just the enemy team you're battling, but also your own side. Battlegrounds are a team experience and, regardless of your personal abilities, sometimes your team just isn't good enough. The worst losses come when you're stuck with random players while the opposition is an organized group communicating over voice chat. The result is often a frustrating steamroll where you struggle to emerge from the graveyard, much less put up a proper fight.

Still, sometimes all it takes is one capable player leading the way to change the tide of battle, which is why it's best to do all you can to improve your play, because the better you become the more often you'll notice yourself becoming the deciding factor in changing a likely loss into a total victory, even against a premade group.

1. Know Your Enemy

The most important part of PvP is understanding the situation, and by that I mean knowing what's happening and what's about to happen, knowing at a glance what spell an ally or enemy is casting and reacting appropriately, and anticipating the next move of an opponent so you can ensure you're prepared for it.

Understanding the abilities of your opposition can be done in a number of different ways, whether you simply grasp it by experiencing it in a battleground, read up on their abilities ahead of time to prepare yourself, or do as I've done and level up multiple classes allowing yourself to get a feel for how each plays. The latter is, in my opinion, the most effective way of learning and gives you the greatest sense of what you should be looking for when facing a given class. Once you've played a mage, you have a deeper insight into what an enemy mage is thinking and how you should counter it, because you've had the same done to yourself before.

2. Research Your Class

Understanding the enemy as I talked about above is important, but what is equally necessary is a proper understanding of your own class to be truly effective. Knowing your abilities is a start, but what you really want to learn is how and when to chain them together into deadly combos to kill opponents before a healer can react and save them.

Timing and anticipation are what PvP is all about, and just because your best ability is ready to be used doesn't mean you should use it as soon as possible, sometimes the best way to get a kill and take down a well supported flag carrier is to hold back your ability usage until a healer is distracted or your target has blown a defensive cooldown or two. Otherwise what you'll often find happens is that you use up your offensive cooldowns just for the target to go from nearly dead back up to full HP in a second or two as the healer counters your offensive burst with some cooldowns of their own.

Again, this is an aspect of PvP best learned by experiencing these situations yourself in battlegrounds, but it can't hurt to mentally plan out your strategy either before or during the battleground. Another great source for information will be online in the forms of guides and videos by players who've already gone through the tumultuous learning curve and figured out what works best for them.

You can apply the same research to understanding the key abilities of enemy classes and what to look out for by consulting guides for the classes you'll be facing, reading up on the strengths and weaknesses of a class from the perspective of those well versed in its use.

For example, if you're having trouble with mages, try looking for a mage PvP guide and see what they themselves fear so you can implement it as part of your gameplan.

3. Teamplay

As I mentioned above, battlegrounds are a team experience and not a duel, as ultimately you're battling to complete objectives rather than just to kill the enemy, although killing other players is inevitably a part of winning the battleground.

Even if you've perfected your play, you'll still more often than not lose when your team is overmatched and inexperienced or lacking in coordination. The simplest way to address this is to find yourself a group of players and form an organized PvP team. This is also the only truly reliable method of ensuring you aren't losing in spite of playing well individually.

The only other way is to try and lead your team yourself which is difficult at best as many players simply don't want to listen and those that do will still lack the added benefit of voice chat and experience playing alongside each other which comes only with time.

Being effective in solo situations and using your abilities to the fullest in a group environment are two very different things. It's necessary that you shift your play to best augment your team as I've often seen groups of random players waste every silence and stun they have available on a single player trying to stop one healing spell. This leaves a gap of time where with their abilities on cooldown the opposition can cast freely and save a flag carrier or decimate their enemies.

While you can't control what your teammates do, you can react to it and look for ways to synchronize your attacks to take down difficult targets or use Crowd Control to eliminate healers from a fight long enough to score some kills.

4. Hotkeys

Something of an aspect of learning your class, assigning keybinds and memorizing their placement will allow you to react instantly to enemy actions, and is essential to properly silencing, interrupting, and healing while in the midst of often hectic team fights.

There's no one best way to do this other than to ensure that every ability you could conceivably require in a PvP situation is bound to a hotkey, often placing the more frequently used abilities in an easier position to hit and the more obscure spells further from where your hand is on the keyboard.

In close battles a single miss-click of an important cooldown can lose what was a winnable fight so it's important that you practice your keybinds to ensure you can execute them swiftly and while on the move.

Actual reaction time will improve with experience as you become more used to PvP.
